Successful Epiphany Carol Service

On Monday, 8th January, the feast of the Baptism of the Lord, we celebrated our annual Epiphany Carol Service at Our Lady of the Assumption & St Gregory Warwick Street.

Mgr Newton presided over the service, which included music & readings from the English Patrimony. The music was performed by the Warwick Street choir, and included pieces by Cornelius, Howells, & Handl.

Special guests were invited to read, including Lord Brian Gill, who read T. S. Eliot’s Journey of the Magi, and also Br. Gildas, of the Chelmsford Norbertines, who worked for the friends for a time. The service concluded with Benediction.

After the service, refreshments were served in the Challoner Hall, including Gallette de Rois. A traditional dish for Epiphanytide.

Pictures & a video of the organ voluntary and the conclusion may be found here. The Friends of the Ordinariate would like to thank those who joined us, and those who worked so hard to make the evening a success.
