Willard Carter – ‘Cello Recital at Warwick St
On Friday 11th September, The Church of Our Lady of the Assumption & St Gregory, Warwick St played host to the young and extremely talented ‘cellist Willard Carter, who gave a short recital after the 12:45 Mass. Willard is a former chorister at Wells Cathedral school, and has been studying the ‘cello since the age of four with a variety of noted teachers, including Alexander Boyarsky at The Purcell School, and Ivan Monighetti at the Escuela de Musica Reina Sofia in Madrid. He has played at Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle, the London Charterhouse, Goldsmith’s Hall, and repeatedly at the Wigmore Hall.
Having been privileged to listen to him play, we cannot recommend enough this sure to be rising force among ‘cellists.
